Body of missing Okada rider found tied to tree in FCT forest

Story from Hamzat Ibrahim ABAGA

The body of a man, suspected to be a commercial motorcyclist, also known as Okada rider, was discovered tied to a tree in a forest close to Kilankwa village in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to a resident Garba Bala, the corpse was found last Thursday morning by a farmer en route to his farm, who promptly alerted local vigilantes.

A commercial motorcyclist known as Usman informed journalists that the victim had been reported missing since the previous Wednesday.

He had allegedly picked up two passengers from Gwagwalada heading towards Kilankwa village.

Usman speculated that the victim may have been attacked by these passengers who then stole the motorcycle.

The body was later evacuated and laid to rest in Unguwar Abattoir, Gwagwalada.

City & Crime reports a similar incident occurring last month in the area, where another motorcyclist was strangled to death by hoodlums who fled with his motorcycle.

SP Adeh Josephine, spokeswoman for the FCT Police Command, has not yet confirmed the incident.
